The Tyler Perry Story

THE TYLER PERRY STORY

This story’s about Tyler Perry

He had a rough life, sometimes scary

But through all his challenges he held on to his faith

He knew he’d triumph by God’s Mercy and Grace.

The Power of God—Jehovah Almighty!

Tyler grew up poor, a normal boy in pants

One day he’d create characters like his Momma and aunts

He’d wear a body suit, put on a very big dress

When you hear more of this story, you’ll know the rest.

About Tyler Perry, a Momma’s Boy—with imagination!

Then one day, Tyler began writing stage plays

Told his Momma he’d take care of her the rest of her days,

He struggled long, worked hard, and kept a level head

He did everything for his Momma, just like he’d said.

For the rest of her days, he did! That Tyler Perry—a good son!

Hollywood wasn’t so kind to Tyler; they just didn’t like the man

They tried to discourage him, but he had many faithful fans

Hollywood wouldn’t give him a chance, they wouldn’t cut him any slack

But that didn’t stop Tyler Perry, ’cause his fans had his back.

The Chitlin’ Circuit, yes, and the folks in the hood!

Tyler started makin’ millions, then built his own Atlanta Studios

Named his five sound stages after mighty Black heroes

He even built a chapel to worship God on all days

And God has blessed him to keep writin’ more movies and plays.

That Tyler Perry, he’s a gifted writer, abundantly blessed—above all that he can ask or think!

Tyler’s made all kinds of new friends, most of them wealthy as can be

But he’s remained very humble, in spite of all his money

His movies have made number one, he’s even seen on TV

Not ’cause of all his new rich friends, but because of you and me.

His loyal fans, those that loved him, even when he didn’t have nothin’!

Yes, we love us some Madea, or simply Tyler as a normal man

We want the very best for him, so we do as much as we can

’Cause he helps so many other folks, he’s not selfish, that’s no lie

We’ll support Tyler Perry ’til the day we die.

Y’all can too now, ’cause he’s very funny! Faithful fans, y’all keep watchin’, ya hear?

Tyler Perry—he’s part of our family!

PS y’all. His story is still in the making!

The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and He delighteth in his way.Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with His hand. Psalm 37:23-24

A good man obtaineth favour of the Lord: but a man of wicked devices will He condemn. Proverbs 12:2

Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21

What About Prayer

What About Prayer

The entire world has been disrupted,

Except for the essential workers,

Indoors we all must stay.

But it’s given us the opportunity of a lifetime

To humble ourselves and pray.

Oh, we’re all in this together,

No matter where we reside,

Covid-19 has not discriminated—

This virus cares nothing about our divide.

Let’s not doubt the power of prayer,

What faith in the Almighty God can do.

We’ll see miraculous results

And be amazed at His Grace and Mercy too.

  God’s waiting patiently and He’s listening;

He’s only a prayer away.

Believe we can make a difference

If we all start praying today.

Let’s continue to do our part,

Be considerate of each other every day,

And let’s put our faith to work

Let’s take some time to pray.

Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of Grace, that we may obtain mercy and find Grace to help in time of need.

Hebrews 4:16

Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.

1 John 5:14-15

The Door to Peace

Christopher Martyn @finelystrung

The Door to Peace

I got all excited when I opened my front door,

But then I was told to

Go back inside for fifteen days more.

I said to myself,

Hey, they can’t do this to me!

I live in The United States of America—

I was born free.

Again, I opened the door.

I was then told, don’t open it anymore.

When I shut it this time,

I just dropped to the floor.

I asked myself,

How was this happening still?

But I already knew the answer:

COVID-19 was waiting to kill.

It was a real heavy thought,

But it wasn’t my burden to bear

I laid it at the Throne of God

And decided to leave it there.

The Joy that floods my soul

The Peace God has given me

Is greater than any obstacle—

It’s truly what keeps my mind free.

I’ll give that door another try,

But I’ll have to wait a little while longer.

Though it can be a real mental challenge

This crisis has only made me stronger.

COVID-19 is a terrible virus;

Recovery will take communities a while.

But behind the door that keeps me confined,

I’ll wait patiently—in peace and with a smile.

I won’t get into a real big hurry

To open my front door just yet

For I’ve entered another where I’m surrounded with peace

And there’s no one outside it uttering threats.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your request be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6-7

Think Again – Don’t Fool Yourself

Think Again – Don’t Fool Yourself

Just who do you think you are?
We’ve all been made the same,
The only difference between you and me
Are our bodies and our different names.

So what if our skin color is different?
That’s not how we should be defined,
We all learn this sooner or later
But only by the renewing of our mind.

It is not very difficult to change
How we perceive things or how we actually feel,
But we have to take those drastic steps on our own
To achieve inner-peace and to truly heal.

Please don’t waste another moment
Thinking that you’re better than me,
Because you’re only fooling yourself
And it’s not reality!

So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

Genesis 1: 27
